Speaking of pumped, I was happy to hear the government is moving up their reopening plan by a few days which allows us to return to in-person services on Sunday.
Return to Indoor In-Person Services Sunday!
I’m excited to welcome you back this Sunday to our in-person service. Yesterday announcements allowed for indoor services at 15% capacity so no need for us to meet in the parking lot!
So, on Sunday the Side Auditorium will be open for seating and overflow. As a reminder, all of our protocols from before will be in place. You’ll be greeted upon entry and asked to do a Covid screen, we’d ask that you wear a mask your whole time indoors and practice physical distancing. In addition, we ask that once the service is over you exit and socialize on the front lawn. With the Phase 1 reopening, singing will be permitted with a mask.
We’re excited to return and appreciate the situation here is still fluid in many ways so thank you for your flexibility over the past few months as we navigate this situation. As always, things are subject to change based on government and by-law orders.
Of course, for those unable to come, or uncomfortable coming, we’ll have our livestream for you to participate in.
Last call for our Outreach Survey
Thanks for those who’ve filled in the survey on our outreach ministry. This is your last chance to fill it in if you haven’t already! As a reminder, one of our key focus areas as a church is outreach. It’s our desire as a church to seek to reach the community around us with the Good News of the gospel. One way we can do that is through church-wide initiatives. So, I want you input!
Attached is a link to a survey that you can fill in with several ideas our outreach team is excited about for you to rank plus also an opportunity to share with us other ideas you may have. So please take a few minutes to complete the survey and let us know what you think.

Join in Prayer
The GBC Prayer Group meets in the side auditorium on TUESDAY AFTERNOONS at 3:30pm. We continue to pray as prompted by God’s Word, intercede for our church family and city, and enjoy the encouragement of God’s presence. Please join us!
Thought for the Day: Character is influenced and developed by our choices.
As we continue to look at how to grow in Godly character and live it out, I suspect most of you realize that the choices we make have a huge impact on our character. You’ve hopefully also realized that this is not something that happens just in church but rather in the ‘lab’ of life. We need to CHOOSE each day how we’ll live in the reality of our world and the choices it gives. Daniel “resolved not to defile himself” while living in captivity in Babylon and that Godly choice was an important step in formulating an unquestionable integrity in his life. Character, in turn, influences our choices. Proverbs 3 tells us: “The integrity of the upright guides them”. Character will help us weather the storms of life and keep us from sin.
Okay, ready to put this into practice? Here’s our next tip:
Fellowship!
You can’t do this in a vacuum and you cannot find success alone. You need others in your life; you need fellowship. That word means a lot more than casseroles and roaster chicken at church get-togethers. It means conversation. It means praying together. It means talking about what God is doing in your life. It means building up others who feel down.
Okay, that makes sense, but it also means no gossiping! As I discussed on Sunday from James 3, we need to watch what we say. Are the things we’re saying building others up or tearing them down?
So, it takes making wise choices and that means you need other Christians in your life to help you out. You need other Christians to give you encouragement and to listen to you. You need advice, too. And you need to give it when you can. Not sure where to look? Hint, hint: the best place to start looking for some Christian friends, is, of course, church. Choose them wisely though, only the ones that look and act like they really are dedicated and really are following Jesus. Then you can both grow in character!
In His grip,
Pastor Chris
